TSKB Provides USD 45 Million Financing for Ova Enerji’s Wind Power Plant with Storage Investment
TSKB has extended an investment loan of USD 45 million for the Çayırlar Wind Power Plant with Storage (WPP-S) project, to be developed by Ova Enerji, a subsidiary of Erdem Holding, in Bergama, İzmir. This investment, which offers an integrated wind and storage solution aimed at supporting Türkiye’s clean energy transition, will contribute to strengthening the country’s grid infrastructure.
Under the agreement signed between the Industrial Development Bank of Türkiye (TSKB) and Ova Enerji, financing of USD 45 million has been provided for the Çayırlar WPP-S project. With a total installed capacity of 43.5 MW, the project will deliver reliable and dispatchable renewable energy to the Turkish grid through its integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).
By combining advanced wind energy and storage technologies, the project is expected to enhance grid stability and increase capacity factors, while also directly contributing to Türkiye’s carbon reduction targets.
Mehmet Rıza Erdem, Member of the Board of Ova Enerji, stated: “We are pleased to have signed a new financing agreement with TSKB for our Çayırlar WPP-S project, which will contribute to Türkiye’s clean energy future. We are delighted to add a new project to the nearly 20-year collaboration between TSKB and Erdem Holding. This integrated investment, equipped with a battery storage system, will strengthen our grid infrastructure while directly supporting our carbon reduction goals. Together with our strong partner TSKB, we will continue to invest in sustainable projects that support Türkiye’s growth.”
TSKB CEO Ozan Uyar commented: “In our country’s sustainable development journey, we consider not only the diversification of renewable energy resources but also technology-driven investments that ensure energy supply security and grid stability as a strategic priority. We are pleased to provide financing for this meaningful project by Ova Enerji, a subsidiary of Erdem Holding, which contributes to Türkiye’s clean energy transition. As TSKB, we remain firmly committed to delivering value in line with global standards in Türkiye’s transition to a low-carbon economy.”
